Stephen Dattels invests into  the natural resources markets and is a knowledgeable mining executive with approximately 30 years of experience in the mining industry, principally as a mining financier. During the early 80’s he was a key executive of Barrick Gold Corporation during its formative years.

Stephen Dattels co- founded UraMin Inc. in 2005, which explored and developed various advanced uranium assets in Africa which was sold to Areva, the French nuclear company for $2.5 Billion in 2007.

In 2011, Stephen Dattels arranged financing for and is Co Chairman and CEO of West African Minerals Corporation, a Cameroon iron ore exploration company listed on the AIM market of The London Stock Exchange.

In addition, Stephen Dattels founded and is Co Chairman of Polo Resources Corporation, an Aim listed company investing in mining and oil & gas projects in Africa and Asia. Polo has been a successful investor in uranium assets including Extract Resources Limited as well as coal investments, namely Caledon Resources Limited. Currently Polo is focussed on developing its Nimini gold project in Sierra Leone and its oil & gas portfolio, through Signet Petroleum Limited which is active in Namibia, Tanzania, Burundi, Benin and Sierra Leone. He is also a director of Regent Pacific Group which is listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange.
